Chicken is one of the materials used by the Albularyo in curing different disease.
As you can see the dead chicken is sliced to identify what kind of disease that
patient encountered. Before the chicken
died it is energetic, the Albularyo touch the animal into the different parts
of the body of the patient itself like a towel and after a few minutes the
chicken died and it serves as an X-RAY that determines the type of disease that
the patient got.
As you can see it is one of the process done by the
Albularyo, it is so called “Pagtatawas” in tagalog and “Santigwar” in
some rural places. The picture shown about what is the cause of having disease
to the patient.
Using a plate and a
lightened candle Albularyo can idenftify if the disease is “Ila sa Kapwa
Tao” or “Ila sa Dulom”. Those are types of “ILA” which means the outcomes of pagtatawas.
The Albularyo has different way curing disease using eggs is
the best example. The Albularyo with her unfamiliar rituals and words she can
let the egg stand alone on her palm, it says that if the egg can stand alone
the patient has problem in his/her condition, but if it is not there is no
problem at all.
After the moment of egg stands alone in the palm of the
Albularyo she asked for a help and gave direction that the egg must be broken
to unleash the disease of the patient.
Four persons tried to break the egg using large amount of
force by means of pressing it, but suddenly theirs no one did it.
After of trying and giving large amount of force by pressing
hard in breaking the egg, no one among the four got the egg.
The Albularyo decided
to make a move, she say something , some sort of unfamiliar words and then ask
to break the egg one more time and the egg was broken. It looks like the word
came from the mouth of the Albularyo serve as the key in the invisible lock of
the egg.
